This is the WATER-ENERGY-LAND-FOOD AND CLIMATE NEXUS. The SIM4NEXUS project aims to predict society-wide impacts of resource use and relevant policies on sectors such as agriculture, water, biodiversity and ecosystem services.

SIM4NEXUS
The NEXUS components, water, land, food, energy, and climate are interconnected. Measures to mitigate water shortages may help food production but adversely affect energy production. The SIM4NEXUS serious game allows users to explore policy choices and scenarios and investigate how these components interact.
CASE STUDIES
SIM4NEXUS applied the Nexus concept in 12 case studies, implemented at different scales: Regional, National, Transboundary, European and Global. The diversity of case studies allowed to better understand interlinkages of decision making across spatial scales, and support decision making in the short-, medium- and long-term (up to 2030, 2050 and beyond). Serious Game is available for 5 different case studies: Greece, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Netherlands and United Kingdom. In addition, the Global case study is accessible through an interactive visualization tool, where the complex modeling of nexus interlinkages is explained and demosntrated.
